USAID ECO-III Project in partnership with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) launched an online benchmarking tool on 14th July 2010. Dr. Ajay Mathur, Director General of Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE) launched the benchmarking tool during the “ Workshop on Energy Benchmarking and Labeling of commercial Buildings in India” organized jointly by ECO-III and BEE.
Under national benchmarking initiative, Bureau of Energy Efficiency has collected 860 building energy information. The same data has been used by the online benchmarking tool which uses regression and distribution based methods to compute energy consumption benchmarks and performance based rating. The Online Energy Benchmarking Tool helps building owners in evaluating performance of their buildings by comparing energy consumption of their building with similar buildings.
