The Online ECOBench - Benchmarking Tool helps building owners in evaluating performance of their buildings by comparing energy consumption of their building with similar buildings. The Indian building sector has witnessed huge interest in the field of energy performance in the last decade.

However, the availability of the building energy data in public domain is scarce. Keeping this in mind, USAID ECO-III Project in partnership with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) launched a national level building energy data collection and benchmarking initiative and collected 860 building energy information. The same data has been used by the online benchmarking tool which use regression and distribution based methods to compute energy consumption benchmarks and performance based rating.
