Train-the-Trainer workshops are aimed at capacity building of academicians involved in the field of building design focused on energy efficiency and sustainability. The intent of the workshops is to help develop a comprehensive knowledge base and skills set in the field of building physics and energy simulation and to develop a network of academicians interested in this field for knowledge sharing.
Objectives
- To develop capacity of professionals/academicians working in the field of built environment on energy efficiency and building physics
- To catalyze the development/evolution of architectural curriculum to incorporate principles of energy efficiency
- To facilitate the implementation of ECBC by developing capacity in next generation professionals
- To facilitate advanced research in the field of built environment
Accomplishments
- Trained 43 professionals/academicians
- Developed a network of partner institutions with faculty members active in the dissemination of building physics and energy efficiency
Ongoing Activities
As an outcome of the TOT workshops and based on ongoing discussions with stakeholders, the need for additional resource material was identified. To fill this gap the ECO-III Project is developing a web-based curriculum on fundamentals of building physics in collaboration with TUV.
